Fossil Hunting goes mainstream

It seems Fossil Hunting has gone mainstream in 2020.  Many may scream that's it's hardly surprising given the various restrictions we've been under.   Some may equally say they've been that bored they've resorted to grubbing around in the dirt in search of prehistoric artefacts.

All the same, fossil hunting of this nature may still be a very niche activity but the hunt is now on for the latest on trend hue from Dulux, yes you guessed it's called Fossil Hunting.

Some time ago trend analysts predicted that 2020 would see a shift away from the cool shades and move more toward warmer tones.

In 2020, we’re going to see a shift away from the cool colour palette that defined the last decade and toward warmer, more organic tones. Warm neutrals and tones in place of cool grays and blues will be much more popular for colours this coming year.” —Cheryl Eisen of Interior Marketing Group

In fact, way back at the end of 2019, Philip Martyn Design picked up on the use of this paint alongside Tranquil Dawn by Dulux

Fossil

The easy way to a great colour scheme

The Fossil Hunting colour from Dulux, embodies tranquillity and a more earthy way of life.

For so long now the grey's and blues of the colour wheel have been dominant, feature walls right through to UPVC windows have been adorned with these cooler shades.  Their coolness suggested strength and stability, however with the recent changes across the globe and in our daily lives, coupled with the start of a new decade changes in hearts and mind have taken place.

None more so than a desire to be rooted, connected to nature.  This move towards warmer more earthy natural tones, provides a different feeling, one that is grounded in 'mother nature', bringing a sense of true stability and strength embodied in the very earth that supports us.

Dulux and their panel of colour specialists at the Global Aesthetic Centre, not only saw this change but brought us a vision of how a more balanced and earth-centric life can be.  Their colour palettes provide us with all that we need to feel warmer, more connected and ultimately safer in the arms of nature.  True strength and yet true tranquillity.
